HAVE YOU HAD A BEGINNING  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.” Genesis 1: 1 – 4 KJV  The beginning of everything was the day when God created the heaven and the earth. The next important beginning was when Jesus came to earth and gave His life for us so that we may have eternal life. Without that beginning, we would be on our way to hell for all eternity. When Jesus died on the cross for us, that was the beginning of unconditional love, grace, mercy, compassion and forgiveness.  Have you have a beginning in your heart? Have you had a beginning of letting go of all of the bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness in your heart? If you have never invited the Christ of Calvary into your heart to be your personal Saviour, it will be impossible for you to let go of these things which hurts Jesus. We are powerless to forgive people and get rid of the bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness that satan puts in our hearts in our own strength.  We must pray and ask God to help us forgive people. It takes the power of our risen Saviour working in our hearts to remove the bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness that satan has put in our hearts. Also, unless we forgive from our hearts, we have not really forgiven them. When God forgives us for our sins, He forgives us from His heart and He never reminds us of them again or holds them against us.
Our Scripture passage tells us that “God divided the light from the darkness.” We are to love everyone unconditionally and be kind to them. However, we are not to form close friendships with people who sin on purpose. None of us are perfect. All of us do things occasionally that hurt Jesus. The sad thing is that there are people who choose to do things on a daily basis that they know are wrong. It only takes one person to convince us to do things which hurts Jesus and brings shame to Him.  We need to be very ive about the people we choose to be our close friends. Our first close friend should be Jesus. Have you had a beginning with Jesus? Have you opened the door of your heart and let Him come into your heart to be your personal Saviour? The beginning of a joyous, happy and peaceful life will start for you the day you say “yes” to Jesus. Invite the Christ of Calvary into your heart today before it is too late.  Joanne Lowe
