THE SUDDEN CALL

Dear Reader, have you ever heard someone calling your name in a loud voice,
while you were in a deep thought, interested in all you were reading, or
hurrying along the street with just your errand in mind, and do you remember
how frightened you were for a second because your thoughts were occupied
elsewhere?

Just stop for a second and think, would it scare you if God sent the angel of
death and suddenly called you from this world to the one beyond? Consider,
would you be ready to answer the call, to stand before your maker (God)? Would
this be a call to frighten you, or a glad calling?

We know not when God is going to summon us to meet Him. Would it be said to
you, “Enter into the joy of the Lord forever,” or will He say, “Depart from
Me, I never knew you; go ye into everlasting punishment?” II Thess. 1:8-10;
Matt. 7:20-23.

God wants every one to be saved, and has provided a way of escape; because all
have sinned and come short of His Glory. Romans 3:23.

God has sent His Son to be that way of forgiveness and redeem us from all sin.
Romans 6:23; John 3:16; 5:24. His Son being crucified on the cross and shedding
His blood – that is the only salvation for sin. Romans 3:24-26; Ephesians 1;7;
I Peter 1:18,19; Hebrews 9:22; Acts 4:12.

If you have never accepted God’s invitation, I pray you will consider it after
reading this. Remember, “Now is the day of salvation, now is the accepted time”
II Cor, 6:2. (Tomorrow may be too late.)

The chorus of the following hymn is likewise a calling or a decision for each
of us to make.

“What Will You Do With Jesus”

“What will you do with Jesus?
Neutral you cannot be.
Some day your heart will be asking,
“What will He do with me?”
